Initilly I wanted to lose weight for my Son’s Wedding on 3rd September, so I contacted HFPT in January 2010 to ask for some help. During that time I have been helped and supported weekly. HFPT guided me on a nutritional strategy and an appropriate exercise plan for my physical capabilities. In the last 9 months I have gone from 172.2lbs to 128.7lb, losing a total of 43.5lbs; taking me from a dress size 16 to a size 8!
I have never felt so good in all my life! I have a lot more energy, I am sleeping better, I feel fitter and experience less discomfort in my feet and hands (I suffer from arthritis in my fingers) and less pain in my joints as a whole . I can also wear shoes that I now like instead of shoes that I need to wear for practicality as a result of the weight loss. I also actually WANT to go to the gym now as exercise is now something I really enjoy.
In summay, the weight loss HFPT has guided me to achieve has been life changing.

After gaining an understanding of what Julie wanted to achieve we supported Julie by helping her identify realistic things that she was prepared to implement into her life that would facilitate achievement of her goals. We begun by introducing breakfasts to Julie who confessed this was a meal she was frequently skipping (this is a big no no for weight loss!), water intake was increased specific to Julie’s requirements and a 3 meal a day and 2 snacks eating strategy was introduced. When the consistencty of the meals was being achieved we supported Julie in getting a better understanding of the types of foods that would support her achieve her goals whilst keeping her hunger at bay and her energy levels up. When we started working with Julie, physically she was in a fair amount of pain from joint discomforts, some related to her arthritis. This initially limited what Julie could do physically, however there were some suitable options. Body balance classes and other low impact exercise sessions were recommended, these coupled with the nutrition changes were suffice for efficient weight loss. Months later Julie is a different person – confident in her self, looking amazing and now in a lot less discomfort, Julie has even begun jogging and is now able to jog 5km, I hear she is even thinking of entering her first 5km! Julie you have truely inpsired us at HFPT, you make our work very rewarding, thank you.
