After a few years without any direction, I decided that I wanted to channel my energy and focus on competitive sport again. I needed to set myself a goal, and knew that I wouldn’t be able to attain it on my own. I knew John would get me on the right path for achieving my long term aims, would help me meet my immediate goals, and who wouldn’t laugh when I told him how ridiculous they were!
I enjoy the sessions I have with John. They are always interesting and innovative and always tough. He helps me to “train smart” in order to gain the most benefit from the effort I put into my training sessions. Often he’ll train alongside me and will show me how I should be doing things, correcting my technique and encouraging me. John is helping to turn me into a triathlete!
Having commenced my training pretty vigorously I suffered from an injury, and John has taught me the importance in increasing my core stability and strength in order to prevent future injuries. He is a wealth of knowledge and really knows what he is talking about. I really trust what he has to say, and it’s great to have a trainer who really knows his stuff.
Having improved my performance this year, I need to start thinking about next season and improve my times and techniques even more. It can be difficult to find the time to train for three disciplines and to excel in them and this is where John becomes an invaluable resource as he helps me to prioritise and work out my training schedule. He’s also very good at keeping me on the straight and narrow!!

Sarah came to me with a very clear goal of qualify as a team GB age group triathlete. Upon assessing Sarah it was obvious she had an enormous amount of physical potential, however there were some skill shortages such as bike handling skills & confidence. With this in mind I set about devising a training program that would maximise Sarah’s physical strengths and develop her skill sets. Our 1-1 sessions were predominantly skill based. In her time between sessions Sarah would work on her physical performance using the long term training program and session plans I provided.
In her first year Sarah achieved her goal and qualified for team GB in her 1st qualifying race! Sarah has since competed at the ITU world chamionship’s in Budapest achieving a personal best time, placing 27th. Great work Sarah

Sarah is now focused on improving her performance for next year, watch this space…………..
