Performance
HFPT’s performance level provides fantastic support and guidance for…..
- individuals looking to achieve peak condition for an event such as a run race or triathlon
- accomplished individual athletes looking for personal best times/performances
- sports conditioning for individual & team sport athletes e.g. football, tennis, skiing
Different sports require different physical abilities such as Cardio-vascular fitness, balance, endurance, strength, power, speed, agility and quickness. The goal at the performance level of training is to maximise physical abilities for your sport or event. Often this will require limits to be pushed, many times when done poorly this can limit gains and seriously comprise health (illness & injury). Our unique knowledge of movement/training, nutrition and recovery means programs consider all elements that impact improvements in performance and health, giving you the best chances of maintaining health, staying injury free and performing to your best – why settle for less?
How does it work?
Step 1: A no pressure initial meet & greet to discuss what you would like to achieve and the training options available to you. If a training option is agreed upon we progress to step 2.
Step 2: We have an appraisal to gather specific information relevant to your current level of performance. This is required so the best advice and programs can be given. Appraisals typically consist of
- Health/medical history questions
- Activity/exercise history questions including any preferences towards exercise methods/styles
- Measurements – any relevant measures that relate to your goals such as weight, blood pressure, body fat etc
- Movement screen – simple and easy movements that allow for a review of posture
- Performance tests – sport specific tests
Step 3: We design clear and easy to follow sports conditioning programs and a periodised long term training plan for you. We will take you through the programs in the sessions you have so you are 100% confident doing the programs yourself, we will also support you follow the periodised long term training plan.
Step 4: We measure your progress at agreed intervals and you move towards achieving your goals. When your sessions are complete you can renew your sessions and continue training or you can take your new knowledge and skills and continually apply them.
